Y’all. These two are my fave. I don’t normally share a ton of the stories here but their engagement story was one for the books.

After 2 years of dating, Kev had planned the most epic scavenger hunt for Erica, one that would ultimately lead her to a roof top engagement over looking the city they fell in love in. The Marvel themed scavenger hunt was scheduled to span 3 days. On the final day I was to secretly capture THE moment after Erica located the final clue on top of The Roof, at Ponce City Market. But as I arrived to PCM I got a text from Kev with the most gut wrenching news. The ring, which had been safely tucked away in a backpack in the trunk of his car, had been STOLEN!!!! A ring, he had spent 12 months custom designing… gone in a 7 min trip to pick up a to-go order at Chipotle. To say he was crushed is an understatement… he ended up canceling the last clue as they waited for the police to show up and file the report.

Later that evening he finally confessed to Erica his original intentions for the evening and in true Erica style, she told him she didn’t need a fancy ring to say yes, she’d say yes to a rubber band ring if it meant spending her life with him…. CUE WATER WORKS!! They ended up completing the final clue in a parking lot near-by where Kev got down on one knee and asked the ultimate question.

The silver lining in all of this.. Kev had proactively purchased ring insurance before it had been stolen. We waited to capture these images until the new ring came in, so that’s what you see here. A black diamond with custom band and filigree — it is perfection!
